What in the Word Is the GPS? Someone please explain to me what is the GPS? In laymen's language please, without all that engineering and electronic gobbledegook. GPS is a mystery till I get the story straight. It's a message from the sky! Well, the GPS, (which means Global Positioning System) now being used in planes, cars, tractors, etc., is a single source, stand alone navigation system, that does not rely on line-of-sight or (deduced) ded reckoning, or ground to airplane radio signals, and makes precise positioning knowledge possible from the sky. It depends upon receiving signals from several satellites, and is available 24 hours a day. It is so accurate, a plane can track to the runway threshold within one metre distance from a thousand miles away, in all kinds of weather, or a car to pull up in front of any house on any street anywhere in the world. Started With The Military, Now Everyone Uses It
Ask Me Where I Am And I'll Tell You Where I'm Going Save Yourself a Lot of Money Here's How It Works Satellites Come And Go We Remain The Same Uses Are Limitless For more GPS information, go to:http://gps.faa.gov/gpsbasics/howit.htm
What About God's GPS? While this is an amazing achievement on earth, it's still true that only an Almighty Jehovah God can truly relay to mankind that kind of information, for their benefit, for now and the future. He has a remarkable GPS. So, for God's GPS ... see Proverbs 3:5-6, and St. John Chapter #3, v. 3 in the Holy Bible for God's direction indicator for time and eternity. Here it is: God's GPS or, God's Plan of Salvation GPS: God's Plan of Salvation 1. Hear and consider and respond to the Gospel of The Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 10:13-17: "'Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.' How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: 'How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!'" But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, 'Lord, who has believed our report?' So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." 2. Believe the Gospel about the life and death of Jesus Christ. Mark 16:15-16: "[Jesus] said to them, 'Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.'" 3. Repent of your sins and turn to Jesus for Salvation. Acts 17:30: "Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent...." 2 Peter 3:9, "The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance." 4. Confess Jesus as your new Lord - first to Him, and then, with others. Romans 10:10: "With the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Acts 8:36-37, "Now as they went down the road, they came to some water. And the eunuch said, 'See, here is water. What hinders me from being baptized?' Then Philip said, 'If you believe with all your heart, you may.' And he answered and said, 'I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.'" 5. Join in with your local Bible believing Church, and follow their directions in your new life in Christ. Hebrews 10:25: "Forsake not the assembling of yourselves together ...." In Obedience, consider water baptism, and sharing in the Lord's Supper with other believers. Become part of a home study group each week, and grow strong in your new faith. Practice the Holy Walk with the Lord day by day. 6. Be faithful in all of your life, up to the time of your human death. Revelation 2:10, "Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life." Be sure to discuss this with your local Bible believing and practicing Christian minister or friend, and ensure that you become a witness to others of what Jesus Christ is doing for you.
