Donald Prout returns!
Melbourne's effervescent Donald Prout is guest at Outback Patrol Feb 9-18th, and anyone who knows anything about effective communicating will want to enjoy this irrepressible Pastor all over again. He is speaking and teaching his Skip Thru series in Sydney's suburban Churches & home meetings, groups, functions, studies, fellowships and will bring his ever pleasant Uke and Gospel songs, unforgettable overheads and his contagious message with him. Phone Les & Martha and arrange to have him at your place.

Gunston & Nixon
A score of young cotton-chippers will never forget when Richie and Les landed on them on a Saturday night in December near Goondiwindi, Q. for carols. They were relaxing after a long hours in the cotton, but with enough bounce to throw around ideas and questions about Christianity. Richie chuckled as he sang and they joined in boisterously. It was called atmosphere. Les showed them how to 'answer-any-man-that-asks-you-according-to- .....' ... and when it was all over, an air or worship and awe filled the hostel where they live. They quietly sang 'Into My Heart' and next morning testified of God's answering their need and prayers. Richie prayed with an Andrew and Les counselled Nathan. Chrissie claimed she will train for missionary work to Muslims and Peter is praying for God's guidance where he will serve. Leaders encouraged others, and invited the evangelists to come back. This was one of the functions on patrol inland with schools, clubs, a hospital, churches, and events in six townships, and an outdoor carols courtesy of area clergy. They flew the Piper Lance Vh-JNV 12 hours through three states.

To Alice & Back.
The Colley's at Wilcannia warmly welcomed the Mottram team to their Sunday 5pm function on their first day on patrol. Great response to Jane's Prodigal Pig puppet and Phil and Steve's music. Locals longed to hear more of Jesus Christ, and that's why they came, regardless of the heat draining their energies. They met the locals in town, a bit scary until at ease about it all at the White Cliffs School next day. That's the way each day unfolded. The team headed out to fit in as much as possible in the few days. The Piper Lance took them to Tibooburra, Alice, Yulara, Oodnadatta, Roxby, Leigh Creek, Broken Hill and Ivanhoe all in the cause of Gospel outreach and to encourage the few Christians in their towns. Jubilant is the only way to describe the responses. Tim's photos captured glorious scenes in colour, and would like to show them around. They are truly the hand of an artist, capturing God's greatest artistry. Best of all, Heaven's recorded those whose lives were being changed through the power of Christ's Gospel. The only delay occurred when the plane's alternator failed, and Alice's MAF replaced it overnight. From then on, the instruments worked perfectly. The team are busy now in reporting tot their supporters the fruit of their labour, and praying for another opportunity to return outback.

Six in Six Years
Popular Institute Lecturer and children's Evangelist, Mr. Graham McDonaldled another team on patrol inland in November. Pilot Adam Brown flies them a rented Piper Saratoga, VH-JNV.

This is Graham's sixth patrol in six years. He is booked again in May,1997. Towns where he ministered before was high on his priority list, but he is also opening up places few teams have been before. Like Mungindi Dirrinbandi. He only had one week to cover fifteen places.

Graham's ministry report in October gave praise to God for scores of children coming to Christ in schools, churches and seminars. Also, scores of children's workers have gained invaluable information in his recent seminars in various parts of the state, Koorong and Open Book.

Pray for Graham's ongoing work with LIFE's Children of the World, raising up new workers through their Church-based seminar program.

Les Nixon and Col Buchanan also returned to a score of inland towns late November. Col spent years outback which led to his singing and TV work, and his impact there is instant. Reports will be included in the January Plane Talk.

And Richie Gunston joined Les for a week inland again, in December. Richie first sang outback with a patrol team in 1962.

Don't let this news die. Tell another. When you are finished, hand it to another Christian for prayer, and invite them to support the Outback Patrol work in Australia's most needy mission field, the vast Australian outback . . .
